Workflows Updates
June 2026
We've released a major update to workflows that will make them considerably more robust and capable of addressing more complex Review processes. The update includes the following new features:
-
Workflow stages can now contain multiple goals that can trigger the workflow branching to any other stage, depending on which condition is met first.
-
Workflows are set when editing Reviews rather than from the dashboard (a new "workflow" tab on the Review edit page).
-
Workflows can now be modified for the specific Review it's assigned to.
Product Updates
June 2026
A number of minor enhancements have been released over the past week.
These include the following:
-
It’s now possible to revert files with decisions back to a pending status in both full view and grid view. Note that any changes are only allowed if the file or decision is not locked.
-
It’s now possible to use the file filter in mobile view.
-
In grid view, you can now select all files between the first select and a shift+select.
-
The print function will now only print comments that are visible in the comment bar, so that you can now use the comment filters to selectively print comments from specific users. Note that the print filter will only apply to the most recent version of the file.
-
The HTML compare feature has been improved to ensure that the navigation between pages of a live website is properly synced on each side of the compare window.
-
The review and project report export has been expanded to include information on any labels or ratings that may have been applied to a Review.
Deactivate Users
April 2026
To make it easier to manage occasional or cyclical users on your ReviewStudio account, you can now deactivate a user (as opposed to delete). A deactivated user does not have access to your account and will not be counted toward your account limits. Should the need arise, you can instantly reactivate a user. If you invite a deactivated user to a Review as a guest, they will automatically be reactivated as a guest on your account.
Checklist
April 2026
The recently added checklists feature provides a way of presenting reviewers and approvers with a more specific and structured list to focus on before approving a file. When a checklist is created and assigned to a Review, it will display to any approvers in the sidebar menu.
This feature is available for advanced plans and higher.
Client Labels
April 2026
It is now possible to limit the list of file and comment labels that can be visible for any specific Review by first creating a label list for a specific Client. This functionality can be useful if your use case requires that client-specific labels be applied by reviewers and you don't want those reviewers to see labels that may be used for other clients.
This list can be defined in the Settings > Client menu by clicking on the Label button on the Client card and adding then selecting the desired labels to show.
New Email Validation Requirement
April 2026
To improve security of the ReviewStudio platform and reduce email delivery issues, we now require any new user or guest invited to participate in your account activity to first validate their email address to gain access to a dashboard or Review.
From a practical perspective, this means that when an admin creates a new user, they must first have that user accept an invitation before the user can be added to a Review or be sent any system emails.
The invitation will also offer new users the opportunity to set their own passwords when they accept the invitation. In addition, the first time a guest accesses a Review through a shared link, they will be required to enter a code sent to the email address they provide before they can gain access.
Table View
March 2026
To help manage a large number of Reviews, the new dashboard Table View provides a more compact format for viewing more Review information on one page. This information includes Client & Project details, workflow stages, labels, dates of creation and last updates and more. You can set the desired width of each column once and that will be remembered between sessions on the same device.
