Managing Notifications

To keep you up to date, ReviewStudio provides you with ongoing notifications of many of the activities that occur within the projects and Reviews that you are involved in. 

Types of ReviewStudio Notifications  

Notifications of activity are shared in an in-platform notification feed with options to send/receive email notifications.

Notifications are created whenever: 

  • A new note is added to a file by anyone other than yourself. 

  • A task is assigned to you, or someone completes a task that you assigned to them. 

  • You are @mentioned in a comment. 

  • Someone replies to a comment that you initiated.  

  • A new file or file version is uploaded to a Review.  

  • An approval action is made by anyone (other than yourself) on any file in the Review. 

  • The overall approval status of a file or a Review changes.  

Notifications Feed 

The in-platform notification feed will provide you with details about the activity as well as provide you with a link that can take you directly to the item affected.  

You can view the notification feed by clicking on the notification icon at the top right of the dashboard. The number shown on the icon will indicate the number of new notifications that have been added since the last time you opened the feed (these new notifications will also have a red dot on them).

You may use the filter at the top of the notification feed to show you only the specific types of notifications that you may be interested in.

Email Notifications

In addition to viewing notifications in the app, you may also choose to have specific notifications emailed to you. You can select the email notifications you want and the frequency that you wish to receive them from your User Profile > Email Frequencies. 

Email Notification Frequency

You may choose to receive the email notification immediately (a new email for each action specified) or select a frequency such as every hour or every day, in which case a single email will be sent containing a digest/summary of all the activity that occurred across your Reviews within the time frame selected.  Your options range from 1-24 hours.

You may also choose to not receive any email notifications at all.

Note that Admins can also modify the notification email frequency of any user by editing their profile from the Settings > Users menu.
